Jeff Farias
Submitted by dawnteo on August 2, 2009 - 6:15pm
In addition to his volunteer work with the party, Jeff also hosts a radio show: Unapologetic and fiercely liberal, Jeff unravels news stories of the day in an upbeat, action oriented, caller-driven format. Jeff speaks with prominent authors, politicians, activists, and pundits to get behind the headlines and the hype - to what really matters and what you can do about it.
"Jeff is thoughtful, considerate, respectful, insightful and he models the kind of social interactions that North Americans have lost over the last few years. He actually stimulates conversation about ideas, without xenophobic flag-waiving, shouting, insulting, mean-spiritedness, spite, or a knee-jerk focus on media distractions."
The Jeff Farias Show airs weekdays from 6 to 9 PM EST. Tune in at www.theJeffFariasShow.com.Jeff Farias was Director of Programming and Production at Nova M Radio. He is a Democratic Party District Chair for LD-14 AZ. He is founding member and served on the Executive Committee of local DFA chapter, DFA-MC.
He spent 9 years in NYC working as a broadcast producer on Madison Avenue and on the documentary series The Eagle and the Bear. This 52 part program examined US - Soviet relations as seen through the prism of the Cold War and aired weekly on the A & E network.
Shortly after the Berlin Wall fell, the series was cancelled and Jeff became a full time touring musician. Having appeared on more than 30 recordings Jeff started his own recording studio, Gecko Park, in Phoenix. He has produced more than a dozen albums for local Valley acts and was a founder and partner in a small Indie label, Rustic Records, specializing in Roots/Americana music.
For fun, Jeff sometimes plays bass in a cowboy band at Rawhide Western Theme Park.
Jeff holds a B.A. in Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University.
