Judge Steven Sarkis

Steven E. Sarkis was elected as Justice of the Peace in the Arcadia Biltmore Justice Court in the fall of 2008. Prior to running for Justice of the Peace, he gained his legal experience working in the Maricopa County Downtown Justice Center as a Judicial Clerk and Court Bailiff.
Before coming to the bench, Judge Sarkis graduated from Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences with a B.A. in Psychology, and in 2011 furthered his education by obtaining his Masters in the Science of Psychology through the University of Phoenix. Possessing such an education has benefited him greatly on the bench.
Judge Sarkis is currently a member of the Maricopa County Justice of the Peace Association and the State Justice of the Peace Association. He is a board member on the Volunteer Policy and Procedure committee, a group that aims to encourage the use of volunteers within the court system as a means of enhancing community interaction with the court and allowing community members to use their skills and abilities to help of their local justice courts.
Judge Sarkis is also the chairman of the newly formed Best Practices committee. The mission of this committee is to survey, review and discuss the best practices and procedures involving case processing, forms development, and other operating procedures to ensure similar and efficient practices are occurring throughout the Maricopa County Justice Court system.
