Ken Dowlin is new to Arizona, having moved here after retirement in 2006. He and his wife, Jan, have over 50 years of experience working in and around politics. They were born, educated, and married in Colorado and have lived and worked in Colorado, Wyoming and California. His career was devoted to increasing access to information, knowledge, and the joys of reading to millions of people through his directorship of four major public libraries. Ken has degrees from CU/Boulder, University of Denver, and UC/Colorado Springs; and has taught graduate courses in management, communication technology, change management, and strategic planning at the University of Denver, UC/Berkeley, and as a full professor at SJSU; his capstone to a very successful career.

Ken did not run for an elected political office until recently, but he has vast experience in leading professional organizations at the local, state, regional and national level. LD 19 has elected Ken and Jan as PCs, county committee members, and AZ state committee members. They bring energy and expertise to the Democratic Party and are working for positive change in Arizona.
