Connie has been the owner of BlueSkye Marketing for 21 years. She grew up in and spent most of her adult life in Washington State and just moved to Arizona in 2004. She and her husband have two daughters. Although randomly involved in politics most of her life, she became seriously involved with the Obama campaign. She organized several house parties and healthcare forums and events. 

In 2010 she was the Volunteer Coordinator for Kit Filbey's legislative campaign in LD19. She also worked on Rodney Glassman's campaign.

Ken Dowlin is new to Arizona, having moved here after retirement in 2006. He and his wife, Jan, have over 50 years of experience working in and around politics. They were born, educated, and married in Colorado and have lived and worked in Colorado, Wyoming and California. His career was devoted to increasing access to information, knowledge, and the joys of reading to millions of people through his directorship of four major public libraries.  Libby Nellsch is a school psychologist for Mesa Public Schools. She moved to Mesa in 2001 after raising her daughters in Greeley, Colorado. Libby grew up in Kansas, but has lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wyoming in addition to Colorado and Arizona. She has been an observer of politics in all of those states, but did not become involved until moving to Arizona and becoming very concerned about the state’s political climate. Libby has been the treasurer for GEMDEMS, the treasurer for LD19, and the treasurer for Kit Filbey’s campaign during the 2010...[more]

I am one of six children that were raised by a single mother that moved a LOT! I grew up in Northern Arizona living in Sanders and Chambers on Historic Route 66. We moved to Winslow then Phoenix then we moved to Kingman and from there we moved to Burbank California for a few years and then back to Arizona living in Holbrook for a few years and then back to Burbank again.

Dick VanDyne, LD 19 Treasurer

Dick Van Dyne is a former chair of District 19 Democrats, a founding member of GEMDEMS, campaign manager for the 2010 Kit Filbey campaign, and has been actively involved in local Democratic Party politics since the mid 1980s. As a teacher, Dick was also active in the Mesa Education Association for many years. Dick, his wife, and his son moved to Mesa from Wisconsin in 1974. He retired after teaching for 34 years and enjoys traveling with his wife, reading, and fishing.
