District Chair Eric Shelley is a native Arizonan. He began working with District 7 in 2008, shortly after moving into the district the previous year. As his introduction to the district coincided with one of the most exciting political seasons in recent history, he quickly learned many aspects of the election process, working as a volunteer for several campaigns including Tim Nelson for County Attorney and Jeanne Lunn for State House. Richard Merkin, LD 7 First Vice Chair
Richard was born and raised in New York City. He move to Phoenix in 1992. He has worked on many Democratic political campaigns over the last 40 years. Six years ago he became active in LD7 politics. He was the chair of the voter registration committee and chair of the PC recruitment committee before becoming 1st Vice-Chair of LD7.

Second Vice Chair, Caren Jablonsky, moved to Phoenix in 1973. Caren moved to Tucson in 1981 to attend the University of Arizona. She received her B.A. in Psychology/Communications and has worked in the Child Welfare field since graduation. Caren has been a Foster Care Consultant at Human Resource Training, Inc. for the last sixteen years. Anastatia Walsh was raised in Phoenix, attended Carl Hayden High School, and received undergraduate degrees from Phoenix College and Arizona State University. In 2004 she earned a Masters of Arts degree in Public Communications from American University in Washington, D.C. Currently, she is owner and Principal of Cave Creek Communications, a public and political consulting firm in Cave Creek.

Steven Slugocki has been a volunteer in Democratic politics since 2004. His first volunteer work was with the John Kerry campaign. He graduated with a degree in Political Science and a minor in U.S. History from Arizona State University in 2007.
Steven is currently the Treasurer of District 7 Democrats as well as the Maricopa County Democratic Party. As Treasurer for the county party, Steven's job is to manage the finances of the party as well as to provide support for the Executive Board.
