I am a lifelong Democrat, having been raised by strong Minnesota democrats. However, I did not become an active Democrat until the 2004 election when I volunteered for the Kerry campaign. Since then, I was an appointed PC from 2004-2006 and an elected PC since 2006. I was chair of D21 from 2006-2007 and was just reelected to be the last D21 chair before redistricting. From 2008-2010, I was the secretary of D21. I have participated in every election since 2004 at the precinct, district, county and state level. I have been a member of GEMDEMS since its formation and have helped organize several fundraisers for them. As part of my dedication to electing democrats, I spent some time at GEMDEMS calling D21 voters, meeting candidates and volunteering my services where needed. I walk my precinct each election and started the Crismon Democratic Club in 2010 to introduce my neighbors to the democratic candidates running for statewide offices. My goal as chair is to create a real presence throughout the district so that when we redistrict, we will have the activists ready to elect our candidates in their new districts.
