Arizona Clean Elections
In 1998 the Arizona legislature passed the Clean Elections Act as a step toward leveling the playing field for candidates of all economic means. In short, candidates raise a certain number of $5 donations from individuals (forgoing special interest money) in exchange for the public funding of their campaign.
